International Alternative Networks

International alternative networks are non-commercial agencies that strive to improve the quality of www.inafi-la.org/ media and information in their respective countries. They’re not imperialist power systems that are inside managed. Instead, they are self-sufficient noncommercial groups trying bring marketing into the 21st century. These tasks began in 1990 and have since grown to include other media, like online video tutorials. Contrary to traditional mass media, these networks are not centralized, but instead function as a series of regional and national links among individuals.

These groups promote their views by organizing video reform campaigns and democratizing information for the benefit of all. They also create new communication infrastructures that can be used to help local, regional and global connection changes in social movement movements. They are different in size, type, and focus. WCNs are a form of alternative network that is composed of wifi-enabled devices. They communicate to send information from one node to the next.

Although these systems aren’t a unified movement but they share certain characteristics, such as the desire to provide Internet capabilities in areas where traditional networks are either not available or are not the most preferred option. This article examines the legal and economic issues that these alternative networks have to face and the governance issues. It draws lessons from eight previous precedents. It provides a definition for these networks and proposes an classification. It aims to broaden critical reflections on alternative media and communication infrastructures, while considering the complexity and heterogeneity of their activities.
